Tonight:
“Women
On Fire”
Registration is now closed. Welcome to you! While registration has been closed, please take a look and see what kind of events I look forward to bringing you in the future: Autumn inspires me like no other season ... the smell of oak and smoke ... the crunch of a crisp apple ... the beauty of leaves slipping from green into the colors of fire. Fall also reminds me of a time to come together ... a gathering, a harvest, a new beginning. If you registered for this event you will join me, the playwright Irene O'Garden, the acclaimed actress Judith Ivey and a wonderful group of people to step into the heart of autumn together! If you didn't register but would like to know about this kind of event and opportunity in the future, please sign up for updates that we will send you by email. Plase know that any information you provide will never be shared. This is a private performance (the theater is all ours for the evening) of “Women on Fire” at 7PM Thursday, October 23, 2003 at the Cherry Lane Theatre in New York City. This program will also include dessert after the performance and a chance to talk about the play with the director, the playwright and the actress. This event is just the ticket if you are looking to be:
The play “Women on Fire” has earned phenomenal reviews in its opening runs and has been predicted as a tour de force on off-Broadway for film, stage and TV actress Judith Ivey. “My advice is to cancel all other appointments and treat yourself to this extraordinary evening of sublime writing, intelligent direction and stellar acting.” ~ The Southampton Press "Women on Fire" is a rare and exquisite evening in the theater." -- The Southampton Press More About the Play Described by critics as "lyrical, touching, substantial and ultimately profound," "Women on Fire" features more than 20 provocative and inspiring monologues with characters such as:
Each on fire in her own way. With fear. Justice. Motherhood. Even shopping! “The characters defy cliché, ranging from a star-struck astronaut to an angry poet. The women share their inner passions with the audience.” ~ The Independent Playwright Irene O’Garden is the dynamo behind this wonderful and unique production. I met her at an Omega Institute seminar and when you meet her, you'll see why I was struck by her warmth, energy and effervescence. You can learn more about her by checking out her engaging website: www.ireneogarden.com “Irene O’Garden turns sometimes poetic, sometimes scathing, sometimes shattering portraits of women in pain and joy into a moveable feast. It’s a show that deserves a large exposure.” ~ The Southhampton Press Director Mary B. Robinson also heads the directing program at Playwright's Horizon's Theatre School at NYU and teaches in the Graduate Program at Brooklyn College. "This is perceptive, enjoyable writing and skillful acting. Don't miss it." -- The News-Review In closing, I wish for you a season of richness and reinvigoration. As the light of the day shifts and the sun beams its shine on you, "What do you need in order to celebrate and welcome in your own season of abundance and renewal?" Warmest regards always,
P.S. After-theatre talk-back and dessert with Judy Ivey, Irene O'Garden and Mary B. Robinson alone makes it worth it. Not to mention the new friends you might meet!
